A lot of the time we get so caught up on the words, that we miss the meaning. When Jesus told of those who would say “Lord, Lord, didn’t we” do these things in Your name? And He will tell them “depart from me, I never knew you”…
Could it be that these were people that first knew His Word, and followed “the Way” but got carried away by strong delusions, or became reprobate?
We can become so quick to ask how that we don’t see the why.
Maybe he or she is now upset or distraught that he or she won’t make it in, “I served You most of my life”. “I did what You said most of the time “.
Did this person believe? Did this person turn away? The Word is very clear that we must believe and we must obey the Lord.
Because gifts come without repentance, their gifts could be flowing and they can be blessed with manny blessings; but material things don’t equal a relationship with God.
They can see the miracles and wonders happening, but could still have hidden unconfessed sin in their lives. Or just be going through the process not truly believing what it is they represent.
Some people are so quick to dismiss the Word of God because something doesn’t line up with how they feel.
The Word is not about your feelings. It’s about doing the will of God in this fallen world, surrounded by these wicked people.
We are here to do the will of our Father.
That starts with repentance and a desire to do whatever, whenever, however He leads because He lead us to do so.
Greater is He who is within us!
Which means change starts with us first!
