Matthew 15:21-28
Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Matthew 15:21-28
There are things about dogs that most of us don’t understand so it was like a huge insult for Jesus to have called that woman a dog…
she had a problem that needed immediate attention, she was ignored, she was insulted and others around her treated her like she didn’t even matter because she wasn’t one of them.
They wanted God to shoo her away.
She probably felt like a dog in that moment.
Dogs are loyal to their masters and I believe Jesus knew that her loyalty to her Master wouldn’t allow her to walk away from Him offended when she knew that by Him her spirit is fed and her provision is made.
Are you loyal? Are you easily offended when things don’t go your way?
A double minded man (or woman) is unstable in all his(or her) ways. If God be God serve Him, whole heartedly.
Do you know who you serve?
First you must know that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him!
My dog, the other day, wanted to open my door and go into the hall. I told him “no, not right now.”
At first he tried to open the door anyway but it was already locked, so he layed down up against the door. He sighed then got back up and tried again like his excitement and persistence was going to move me.
It didn’t, so he positioned himself at my feet before the door.
I was trying to do some praise and worship before I prayed and went to bed, but I just had to stop and acknowledge what was happening… the revelation and coralation hit me.
He had positioned himself in a way that even if he was asleep, if I moved he would know about it.
So if I moved, I had to move over him and he was in the position to go first through the door that his master will unlock and open.
It would cause him to temporarily move outta his comfort zone and into what he saw as the promise.
My dog has more faith in me opening the door than most of us have in God opening a door for us in our lives that we know He promised.
If you have a need and you felt ignored, could it be that you don’t have it because you stopped pressing and resting in the Lord somewhere along the way?
Mockers will come and it may even look like God is siding with them at the time.
But God is righteous and will silence the haters on behalf of His children, them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. Just like he did for the woman from Canaan.
At the end of the trial you’ll know what you’re really made of…
Did you fold right before breakthrough or did you stand firm and submit yourself to the Lord?
Did you praise Him for the victory regardless of what it looked like or did you subcome to the attacks and distractions of the enemy?
These are the steps of submission:
- Praise
- Worship
- Communication with the Lord
- Fasting
- Keeping faith in Him because you trust Him and love Him
- Obeying Him
When I posture myself before my Daddy, He will protect me and provide for me.
The woman with the issue of blood must’ve looked like a dog, by society’s standards… she was ‘filthy’ and ‘unclean’.
But she found out that there was power when she got on her knees; power that only comes from submission.
Out of all the crowd, she was the only one the Master acknowledged, and something happened for.
The power flows when I’m submitted to God.
